The Coronado Club is an elegant private dining club located in a landmark building in downtown Houston. Established in 1956 as a place for the city’s business leaders to meet in convivial surroundings, the Coronado Club offers luxurious comfort, exceptional dining and impeccable, highly personalized service. For generations of Houstonians, the Coronado Club has been a gracious gathering place for friends and colleagues – a welcoming retreat in the vibrant heart of the downtown business district.

Cuisine

Houston is famed for its restaurants, yet even in the center of plentiful fine dining options, the Coronado Club stands out.

Overseen by Executive Chef Robert Greene, the kitchen at the Coronado Club crafts menus from bespoke ingredients procured from small farms, including free-range cattle, wild game ranches and family-owned fishing boats that go out to sea at dawn to bring back the freshest catch each day. Hand grown, hand picked, sourced from nature’s bounty; meals at the Coronado Club are created to delight and inspire.

Letter from Chef Robert

It has been a privilege to serve as Executive Chef to the Coronado Club for the past eight years. From the beginning, my goal has been to balance the club’s time-honored traditions with a globally inspired culinary program, offering our members ingredients that you don’t find in most local restaurants. Tuna from Hawaii, scorpion fish from Baja, halibut from Sitka Sound in Alaska – all of it pulled fresh from the ocean that morning, processed on the dock and shipped directly to our door where it is prepared and plated within 48 hours.

The story of the Coronado Club is one of relationships with the local farmers, who grow our fruits and vegetables to order, the captains of fishing boats and their families and the purveyors of wild game and ranch-grown beef. It’s also about the relationships with our members, providing them with a sense of being at home with a personal chef, a spirit of adventure and shared discovery and knowledgeable and attentive service.

Josh Bogen of SeafoodS.com has worked with Chef Robert since his second month at the Coronado Club to source seafood from around the world. With their network of small fishermen and “dock to restaurant door” overnight service, Josh and SeafoodS.com helps us maintain consistent quality and offer menu options not readily available in the Houston market.

Broken Arrow Ranch in Ingram, Texas, is an artisanal supplier of high quality, free-range venison, antelope and wild boar. Animals are humanely field harvested from ranches in central and south Texas to reduce stress and ensure meat quality.

Anume Farms is a small grower in LaGrange, Texas, with a mission to changes lives through organic nutrition. Seventy-five percent of their output is donated to community shelters and food bank; 25 percent is sold to restaurants such as the Coronado Club. We are proud to be one of the restaurants they serve and in turn to help support their mission.

At the Coronado Club we specialize in bringing together wonderful food, curated cocktails, wines from renowned wine makers, and turnkey event production, in unique settings that transform your imaginings into memorable events.

No request is too challenging for our talented staff – from creating themes and invitations, to creative and custom menus, place cards, flowers and entertainment. Our classically decorated dining and event rooms hung with artwork that spans four centuries, create a gracious backdrop for any occasion.

Valet Parking

The Coronado Club is located in the heart of downtown Houston at 919 Milam Street. The club is on the 5th floor of the 919 Milam building (formerly the Bank One building). Travis, McKinney, Milam and Walker Street border our building. To access the building, use the McKinney, Walker or Milam Street entrances. After 6:30 p.m., please use the Milam street entrance as all other entrances to the building will be locked.

The Coronado Club offers valet parking during a la carte lunch service from 11:00 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Monday through Friday. For private lunch or evening events, arrangements for valet parking must be made in advance.

The valet is located inside the 919 Milam building on the second floor of the garage.

The valet drop off location for lunch is 851 McKinney, on the left side of the street between Milam and Travis. Valet personnel stationed outside the building will allow you to enter the garage through the contract parking gate. Follow valet signs to the second level of the garage and leave your car with the valet and proceed to the 5th floor. Self parking is not allowed in this garage. The fee for valet parking (member or guest) is $15.00 a car, which is charged to the member’s club account.
